Approach to Stall – Clean
Flaps 0
Entry
• Reduce power to idle
• Maintain altitude as speed decreases
At first indication of stall, simultaneously:
• Reduce angle of attack
• Thrust lever to takeoff power
• Level wings and accelerate out of stall
Before entry
• Flaps 0
• Altitude 12,000
to 15,000 ft
Use trim to relieve
pressures to 1.23 V S
(ref speed)
Recovery
• Adjust pitch attitude to maintain altitude
as airspeed increases
• Adjust airspeed to 180 kt or as directed

Approach to Stall – Takeoff or Approach Configuration
Flaps 20, 15° to 30° of Bank, Gear Down
Entry
• Set to 50% N 1
• Roll into turn 15 to 30°
• Maintain altitude
At first indication of stall, simultaneously:
• Wings level
• Reduce angle of attack
• Thrust levers to
takeoff power
• Accelerate
out of stall
Before entry
• Gear down
• Flaps 20
• Altitude 12,000
to 15,000 ft
Use trim to relieve
pressures to 1.23 V S
(ref speed) –
but not below
Recovery
• Adjust pitch attitude
to maintain altitude
• Adjust airspeed to
180 kt, or as instructed
When speed
accelerates
back to V REF

Look up 1.23 V S
for airplane weight
with flaps 20

Landing Configuration
Entry
• Set to 55% N 1
• Maintain altitude until at V REF ,
then descend 500 ft below
existing altitude and level off –
do not add power
At first indication of stall or buffet:
• Reduce angle of attack
• Thrust levers to takeoff power
• Level wings and accelerate out of stall
Before entry
• Gear down
• Flaps down
• Altitude 12,000
to 15,000 ft
Return to
original altitude
Flaps 10
Maintain heading and altitude
and increase airspeed to
180 kt clean or as directed
