Turbo-prop aircraft | | The supporting implementation plan recommends that mandatory carriage above FL195 be enforced, as a minimum, in those 30 States that enforce above FL245. This recommendation is justified on the basis that it will create a homogeneous area of operations that will: |
- mitigate against safety hazards due to non-8.33 compliant aircraft
- reduce ATC workload at complex transition zones
- facilitate the introduction of later phases of vertical expansion at a later date

Pre-Implementation Safety Case |
The Pre-Implementation Safety Case demonstrates that the 8.33 kHz implementation above FL195 in the ICAO EUR Region can be safely implemented through a set of arguments and corresponding evidence. In addition, the document provides a set of recommendations to EUROCONTROL relating to important safety issues which need to be acted upon.

The safety plan describes the activities required to ensure the safe implementation of 8.33 kHz above FL195 in the ICAO EUR Region.

|
|
The safety assessment report describes the Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) and Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA) performed for the planned 8.33 kHz implementation above FL195 in the ICAO EUR Region.
The FHA and PSSA were supported by three working sessions, held respectively at Eurocontrol Brussels, ENAV Italy, and DFS Langen.
