EFFECTIVITY: AIRBUS A319 and A320 aircraft, all certified models and serial numbers which are equipped with GOODRICH carbon brakes (reference PN 2-1526-4 or 2-1526-5 or 2-1572 or PN 2-1598-1 or PN 2-1600-1 or 2-1600-2 or 2-1600-3) in accordance with: - AIRBUS modification 24007 or 24260 or 25810 or 30075 or 31146 or 31803 in production, or - AIRBUS Service Bulletin (SB) A320-32-1090 or A320-32-1114 or A320-32-1180 or A320-32-1221 (modification 30485) or A320-32-1228 or A320-32-1238 in service. The aircraft that have received AIRBUS modification 32311 in production are not affected by the requirements of this Airworthiness Directive (AD). The aircraft fitted with 4 GOODRICH carbon SEPCARB III brakes PN 2-1600-3 on which brakes mixability has been forbidden as per application of SB A320-32-1247 in service, are not affected by the requirements of this AD. 2. REASONS: One aircraft has experienced a runway excursion during landing. Investigations revealed a reduction of braking performances during the first application was a contributing factor. […] The Revision 1 of this AD mentions GOODRICH carbon brake SEPCARB III (PN 2-1598-1) and introduces limitations to cover brakes mixability for aircraft equipped with GOODRICH carbon SEPCARB III PN 2-1600-3. The Revision 2 of this AD rectifies the reference of SB A320-32-1233, which must be read A320-32-1238. The Revision 3 of this AD aims at deleting the limitations to SA3D brakes once they have accumulated 240 flight cycles, in accordance with AFM Temporary Revision (AFM TR) N° 5.03.00/24 issue 2. Revision 4 of this AD reduces the applicability field. n/GH AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE No F-2001-499 R4 Distribution: B Issue date: August 31, 2005 Page: 2/2 3.
