Background
• Many operators reported missing support
assemblies
• Function to retain blocker doors when
retracted during flight
• Locations include all 8 bonded support
assemblies
Status
• Efforts underway to introduce BAC5010
Type 117 into Boeing production
• Should occur in 1st Qtr 2002
• BAC5010 Type 117 approved for
in-service use
• Restriction for missing supports still in
place
• 14 days for 1 missing support
• For 2 missing supports, install or
borrow from adjacent door location
prior to flight
• Airline Communication
• FLEET TEAM Digest article 737NGFTD-
78-00001. Latest revision
dated 9 Nov 2001
• Service Letter 737-SL-78-048,
dated 24 Sep 2001
