Descent
• Maintain pitch attitude until
reaching M MO /V MO
• Adjust pitch attitude to
maintain M MO /V MO – trim
• Accomplish Emergency
Descent checklist when able
Notify ATC of
emergency descent
• Ask for minimum
safe altitude in
this area and
current altimeter
setting
Cabin altitude
warning activates
or cabin altitude
exceeds 9,400 ft
Look aft in cabin
to check on passengers
Checklist recognition
• Crew oxygen masks
• Thrust levers idle
• Autopilot disengaged
• EMER spoilers extended
• Establish approximately 10 to 12°
nosedown pitch attitude
• Descend at M MO /V MO
Level off at altitude
not requiring mask
• Spoilers retracted
• Power as required
to maintain safe speed
