Background
• Boeing introduced a Universal AVM on 737NG airplanes starting with L/N746
which delivered Jan 2001
• Universal AVM designed for use on 737-300-900, 757, and 747/767
airplanes with PW4000, CF6-80C2 PMC and FADEC, and RB211-524
engines
• To accommodate the multi-model usage, three signature pins were added to
airplane equipment rack

Interchangeability
• AVM interchangeability information for the 737-300-900 is provided in Boeing
Service Letter 737-SL-77-015-C dated 26 Apr 2001
• Previous AVMs can be installed on all 737NG airplanes (Boeing P/N
S360N021-113, -114, -203, -213)
• The universal AVM can be installed on all 737NG airplanes. Airplanes
prior to L/N 746 require Boeing SB 737-77-1056, dated 16 Aug 2001
• Boeing SB 737-77-1055 scheduled for release by end of 2nd Qtr 2002 for
737-300-500 airplanes allow installation of the universal AVM on these
airplanes
• The universal AVM will function similar to the S360N021-113 or -114.
Changes to the AMM to show the universal AVM are scheduled for the
June 2002 revision of the AMM
• Adding the proposed flow chart is also scheduled for the June 2002 AVM
revision
