The Outlook for 2002
• Things are difficult for everyone
- Aircraft production is down significantly
- Airlines worldwide are struggling to maintain profitability
- Heavy cost pressures throughout the industry
• However…
- Orders are stronger than anticipated
- CFM continues to lead the market
- CFM continues to provide on-time deliveries
• And the fleet continues to perform well
- Fleet will surpass 200 million flight hours
- 5,000th CFM56-powered aircraft will be delivered
• Short-term outlook is uncertain, but long-term viability of the industry is
good…CFM remains committed to serving that industry.
