　　The British Retail Consortium is the lead trade association representing the whole range of retailers, from the large multiples and department stores through to independents, selling a wide selection of products through centre of town, out of town, rural and virtual stores.

　　英国零售商协会（ British Retail Consortium），简称BRC。是一个重要的国际性贸易协会，其成员包括大型的跨国连锁零售企业、百货商场、城镇店铺、网络卖场等各类零售商，产品涉及种类非常广泛。

　　1998年，英国零售商协会应行业需要，制定了BRC食品技术标准（BRC Food Technical Standard），用以评估零售商自有品牌食品的安全性。目前，它已经成为国际公认的食品规范，不但可用以评估零售商的供应商，

　　同时许多公司以其为基础建立起自己的供应商评估体系及品牌产品生产标准。该标准发布后不久，很多其它行业的组织发现了该标准的借鉴价值，将其发展并延用到各自的行业标准中。随着食品标准的广泛实行，BRC还发布了其它全球性标准，如消费品标准（Consumer Product Standard）、食品包装标准（Food Packaging Standard）等。
