 Background
 Boeing and CFM have received three reports from one operator of
looseness of several Boeing and one CFM brackets.
– Looseness resulted in elongated holes in fan case and brackets.
– In one instance, bolts separated.
– All affected engines had over 14,000 hours.
 Loose brackets were found on B1, B4 and B8 flanges.

 Actions In work
 Boeing and CFM team has been formed to investigate reports and
determine root cause.
– Plan to share interface data between brackets, bolts and fan case.
 Currently attempting to gather additional information.
– Have asked reporting operator for additional information.
– Have sent inspection requests to three operators asking for inspection of
brackets on high time engines (over 10,000 hours).
 Results not yet available.
– Currently analyzing two returned Boeing brackets.
 CFM to evaluate fan case repair
– Evaluate fan case repair options.
